What is your role at Fennell West and what three words would you use to describe it?

Financial Adviser. Different everyday and interesting.

Favourite thing about working at Fennell West?

The crew and the culture.

What would you do (for a career) if you weren’t doing this?

As a kid I wanted to be a farmer, cricketer or a pilot – so one of those.

If you could learn to do anything, what would it be?

I would love to be able to speak another language.

If you could meet anyone, living or dead, who would you meet and why?

Steph Curry, because I’m a huge NBA fan. Steph’s extremely cool and interesting. Good person as well.

What’s your favourite book, movie and song?

Book: The entire Harry Potter series.
Movie: Either Shawshank Redemption or Zoolander.
Song: Let it Happen – Tame Impala.

What’s the craziest thing you’ve ever done?

Maybe Nevis Bungy in Queenstown or taking stupid risks while skiing.

What is your guilty pleasure?

Probably stupid humour such as in Zoolander, South Park or The Simpsons.

What’s your favourite travel destination and why?

Japan. The people are so nice and it’s just a different world. Extremely clean and efficient – everyone takes pride in their work and families. It’s also really pretty and has good ski mountains.

What are your favourite things to do in your spare time?

Anything sport related, hang out with friends (and watch F.R.I.E.N.D.S), read, travel, music.

What’s your earliest childhood memory?

Making “biscuit soup” with my grandmother when I was about 4. She was sick at the time so a lot of my early memories are of her. She passed away when I was 6.

What’s the greatest piece of advice a parent or mentor has given you?

Not really a mentor but at the moment I’m loving a quote from Horace (old philosopher) “He who has begun has half done”. This quote applies to financial planning/personal finance too. The hardest step is always the first, it gets a lot easier from there.
